We perform premium restorations to vehicles that have regular (clear/original) titles, and also premium cars and trucks that may have had an Insurance company issue a 'salvage' brand to the title. These titles may indicate a vehicle had been the subject of a theft and recovered or the vehicle may have been damaged in an accident or by fresh water.
At Gulfsands, we restore only premium vehicles, and generally only those that have been theft recovery, branded salvage due to water, minor fender bender or clear title vehicles. The vehicles we restore are only high quality cars and trucks, with minor to no physical damage. These premium rebuilt vehicles are not cars that have been seriously damaged, as we don't rebuild cars that have been involved in serious crashes. All of our current stock are original or corrected original paint and nearly all original body panels too. Minor flaws are corrected, but these vehicles are run and drive before we buy them!
All of our vehicles are ready to be insured, tagged and driven!! All have new titles and if a rebuilt title, all have passed State of Alabama inspection! Gulfsands is a State of Alabama licensed Auto Dealer, and have been auto mechanics and in the auto restoration field for more than 40 years! We only personally drive one of our restored vehicles.
Dodge Vipers & the 'salvage' or 'rebuilt' Title
We specialize in building Dodge Vipers, produced only from 1992-2017. We build cars with either rebuilt or clear titles, as Vipers commonly receive salvage title classification from insurers. Actually, it's not only common, it's super common for Vipers. And many times for minor issues only. What is minor for nearly every other car on the market today, a Viper can get salvaged! The main reason for the is the special nature of the Dodge Viper. The Viper is a unique vehicle in many ways, but in it's essence, it is a low production, mostly hand made factory race car. Since going out of production in 2017 with the Gen 5, many key parts are no longer produced. Others, such as Gen 1 & 2 models, parts production stopped many years ago. This makes NEW parts hard to find for the insurance companies. There is no stock body panel aftermarket for Vipers, and new OEM or NOS stock has become rare to non-existent. Used parts become the only option in most cases, which may not be acceptable to the car owner, or to the insurance company. This makes Vipers hard to repair for insurance companies, but easy to salvage. This is why so many Vipers can have a title legend.
We've had Gen 2 Vipers (1996-2002) salvaged for only a broken windshield. No OEM available, no aftermarket either. Rare find an NOS unit someone has purchased, so the main option is used. Used windshield = salvage title from insurance. Bumpers, fenders, any minor item can be salvage title for a Viper. That's why that brand can mean so little for a Viper, DEPENDING on the issue, and on the restoration. Review our cars, as we describe everything we do in detail. Our vehicles are VERY selectively chosen and restored in-house. We have 40+ years mechanical and restoration experience, and we WARRANTY our repairs! Any car that carries a rebuilt title is also inspected by the State of Alabama DOT to be sure it's Road Worthy and approved for Registration.
